3: Nature Walks
3 things that unnerve us about taking a stroll outside.
- The coyote following you brings a new friend every time you look back.
- You flash a light into the woods to see countless eyes reflect back at you, none blinking and all far too high off the ground.
- On a hike, you hear a rustle coming from your left. A deer by the bush, still as a tree. You shout. It hesitates, but it runs off. Thirty minutes later, you feel a breathing behind you. Slow. Shallow. You spin and see the deer again. You shout. The deer doesn’t run this time—it doesn’t even blink.
