3: On a Drive
3 things that scare us when things go wrong during a drive.
- You take a wide turn in the rain. You slow down but not enough. The back of your car won't stop turning.
- On a U.S. highway at 65 MPH, your vehicle needs at least 4 seconds to stop. Add another second to fully press the breaks. A few microseconds more depending on your reflexes. All this you calculate half a second before impact.
- Always lock your car doors. Not all passengers are invited.
